The wait is almost over. From September 15 to 20, the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, will transform into the epicenter of the competitive scene as the Rocket League World Championship 2026 kicks off. With a massive $1,200,000 prize pool on the line, the world’s 20 best teams are ready to fight for the ultimate title.
The Road to the Championship
Qualification for this year’s event was a gauntlet. Teams earned their spots through a grueling season of regional events and Majors, with the top 16 qualifying via points and the final four slots decided by the Last Chance Qualifiers.
The tournament structure is designed to test every aspect of a team's consistency. It begins with an 8-team GSL-style Play-In stage on September 15, where only four squads will survive to join the main group stage. From there, 16 teams will be split into four groups, playing a single round-robin to determine playoff seeding. The pressure peaks during the hybrid elimination bracket, where only the strongest will survive to reach Championship Sunday.
Who to Watch
While every team in the bracket has the potential to cause an upset, the conversation naturally gravitates toward the heavy hitters. Team Falcons and Karmine Corp enter the event as the primary favorites, both having demonstrated elite form throughout the season. However, the narrative for the North American crowd is centered on a potential redemption arc for NRG. As former champions, the pressure on them to perform on home soil is immense.
Beyond the big names, the international diversity of this year's lineup—featuring representatives from regions like Sub-Saharan Africa, APAC, and Oceania—ensures that the group stages will be anything but predictable.
As the teams touch down in Texas, the meta remains a hot topic of debate. Whether it’s the tactical precision of the European giants or the aggressive, high-octane playstyle often seen in MENA and South American rosters, we are set for a week of high-stakes Rocket League.
