The landscape of professional Counter-Strike has a new protagonist. In a series that will be remembered for its sheer intensity, FUT Esports has secured their first-ever Big Event grand final appearance after a grueling 2-1 victory over FURIA at the Esports World Cup 2026.
Few expected the young roster to dismantle the Brazilian favorites, but the squad proved that their recent trajectory is no fluke. After trading maps—with FUT taking Ancient 13-11 and FURIA responding with a dominant 13-6 on Nuke—the series culminated in a nail-biting Dust2 decider.
The decider was a masterclass in resilience. FURIA looked poised to close out the series after a strong first half, but the FUT youngsters refused to buckle. Pulling back from multiple disadvantages, they clawed their way into overtime, where their composure under pressure eventually overwhelmed the experienced Brazilian side. Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov was instrumental, leading the charge with clutch plays that kept his team's tournament life alive.
This result is a watershed moment for an organization that has been rapidly ascending the tier-one ladder. Previously, their best Big Event performance was a fourth-place finish at the ESL Pro League Season 23 Finals. By reaching the final in Paris, they have officially moved beyond the "dark horse" label.
For those following the MyEsports predictions, this upset serves as a stark reminder of how quickly the meta shifts when raw talent meets discipline. The team, largely built around a core of former NAVI Junior prospects, has successfully integrated Yasin "xfl0ud" Koç, whose impact across the series was pivotal.
Now, all eyes turn to the Accor Arena. FUT Esports stands just one series away from the ultimate trophy, awaiting the result of the other semifinal to see if they will face Team Spirit or Legacy. Regardless of the opponent, the Turkish organization has already cemented its status as a legitimate contender on the global stage.
