The VALORANT Champions Tour offseason has officially shifted into high gear. As organizations finalize their plans for 2027, the professional scene is witnessing a wave of high-profile departures that will redefine the competitive hierarchy for the upcoming year.
Paper Rex Begins a New Era
In a move that marks the end of an iconic chapter, Paper Rex has parted ways with Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie after five years. Jinggg, whose aggressive Raze play became synonymous with the team’s identity, leaves behind a legacy of international success, including a runner-up finish at Champions 2023 and a title at Masters Toronto 2025. Joining him on the exit list is long-time captain Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee. With these departures, only Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto remains from the organization's original 2021 roster, signaling a massive rebuild for the Pacific powerhouse.
Sentinels and FNATIC Revamp
Across the Atlantic, Sentinels are aggressively pursuing a return to form after a 2026 season that saw them miss every international event. The organization has released Jonah "JonahP" Pulice and Jerrwin, with CEO Rob Moore confirming that they have already identified "S-tier" replacements.
Meanwhile, in EMEA, FNATIC has officially parted ways with Sylvain "Veqaj" Pattyn. The Frenchman’s tenure was marked by a promising start followed by a challenging period involving health-related benching. FNATIC is clearly looking to reset, as they aim to regain their status as the region’s premier force.
The New Competitive Landscape
While established giants are shedding veteran talent, other organizations are betting on fresh combinations. Mandatory has made a splash by announcing a 2027 roster featuring five former VCT talents, including Veqaj, who moves to the squad to lead their new campaign. Additionally, players like audaz are entering free agency, looking for new homes as the ecosystem stabilizes ahead of the new season.
With free agency officially opening, teams are racing to lock in their lineups. For the latest on these moves, keep an eye on our matches page and stay tuned for our upcoming MyEsports predictions for the 2027 kickoff.
