The professional Dota 2 scene is in a state of flux. With PGL Wallachia Season 9 kicking off in Bucharest today, September 19, the competitive landscape has been dramatically altered by a flurry of post-TI 2026 roster moves.
ATF Finds a New Home at Team Yandex
Team Yandex has made the most significant splash, officially signing former Team Falcons superstar Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf. ATF steps into the offlane role, replacing Dmitry “DM” Dorokhin, who has been moved to the inactive roster.
This move is a massive statement of intent for the Russian organization. By securing an International champion to pair with their existing TI-winning support, Martin “Saksa” Sazdov, Yandex is clearly aiming to build on their impressive third-place finish at TI 2026. The synergy between ATF’s aggressive, farm-heavy playstyle and the team’s core—led by Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov—will be the primary narrative to watch as they take to the server.
LGD Gaming Rebuilds with Legends
Across the globe, the legendary Chinese organization LGD Gaming has opted for a high-profile international pivot. In a move that caught many by surprise, LGD has signed Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu.
The new-look LGD roster is a blend of experience and fresh ambition:
- Carry: Máximo “Wits” Orozco Alza
- Mid: Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
- Offlane: Cedric “Davai” Deckmyn
- Soft Support: Thiago “Thiolicor” de Oliveira Cordeiro
- Hard Support: Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu
- Coach: Kanishka “BuLba” Sosale
The addition of SumaiL, who many thought might step away from competitive play, brings a legendary presence to the mid lane. Meanwhile, Sneyking’s leadership as a hard support—fresh off his tenure with the now-disbanded Team Falcons—provides the tactical backbone this squad needs to compete at the highest level.
With the tournament format featuring a grueling Swiss group stage, these new lineups will have zero time to settle in.
