The drought is finally over for 100 Thieves. In a stunning display of tactical precision and individual brilliance, the North American squad hoisted the trophy at the Valorant Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, defeating regional rivals NRG 3-1 in the grand final.
This victory marks the first major international title for the organization, a milestone that has eluded them for years despite consistently fielding rosters with immense potential. For veteran star Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk, who has been the face of the organization for over half a decade, this win represents the validation of years of hard work.
A Statement Performance in Paris
The grand final was a clash of styles. While NRG entered the series as the reigning world champions and heavy favorites, 100 Thieves dictated the pace from the very first map. The series began on Breeze, where 100T dismantled NRG’s defense to secure an early lead.
The momentum continued onto Sunset, where the roster’s synergy—led by rookie IGL Jordan “vora” Pulwer—shined through. Despite NRG finding a foothold on Haven, the resilience of 100 Thieves was on full display during the final map on Ascent. Trailing 9-3, the team mounted a legendary comeback, forcing overtime and eventually closing out the map 14-12 to seal the championship.
The winning roster:
- Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk
- Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban
- Sean “bang” Bezerra
- Jordan “vora” Pulwer
- Timothée “Timotino” Lavigne Dupont
What This Means for the VCT Circuit
This triumph is more than just a trophy; it is a complete shift in the power dynamics of the Americas region. Having struggled to qualify for previous international events like Masters London, 100 Thieves proved that their internal growth and trust in new leadership—specifically the integration of vora and Timotino—has paid off.
For NRG, the loss is a bitter pill to swallow, but they remain a formidable force in the matches ahead. As the scene looks toward the remainder of the season, 100 Thieves have firmly established themselves as the team to beat. Whether this form holds remains the biggest question for the upcoming MyEsports predictions. One thing is certain: the competitive 100 Thieves roster has finally arrived on the world stage.
