The post-The International 2026 shuffle has hit the reigning world champions with the force of a thunderbolt. Team Spirit, fresh off their historic third Aegis victory just last month in Shanghai, has announced that legendary offlaner Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov and team coach Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov are stepping down from the active roster to take a career break.
This move marks a significant shift for the organization, which has been the gold standard of Eastern European Dota 2 for years. Manager Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov addressed the situation with characteristic transparency, noting that the decision was discussed throughout the season and emphasizing that there is no internal drama—simply the reality of professional fatigue.
To fill these massive gaps, Team Spirit is turning to its roots. The team has tapped talent from their academy squad, Yellow Submarine, to maintain their competitive edge.
The New-Look Team Spirit:
- Carry: Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk
- Mid Laner: Denis "Larl" Sigitov
- Offlaner: Bohdan "Batyuk" Batiuk (Stand-in)
- Soft Support: Alexey "not me" Kosmynin
- Hard Support: Alexander "rue" Filin
- Coach: Ilya "IllidanSTR" Pevcaev
The primary question now is how this iteration of the team will fare on the big stage. The squad is scheduled to debut at BLAST Slam VIII, which kicks off on September 29. With a $750,000 prize pool and a field of top-tier opponents like Team Liquid and PARIVISION, the pressure will be immediate.
While the community is understandably buzzing about the absence of such iconic figures, the organization remains focused on the future. Korb3n’s message of "see you soon" rather than "goodbye" provides a glimmer of hope for fans waiting for the return of the legendary duo. For now, the spotlight shifts to the new blood as they attempt to uphold the legacy of the most successful organization in The International history.
