The coaching carousel in North American Valorant continues to spin. Shopify Rebellion Gold has officially parted ways with head coach GUGLi, a move that comes at a pivotal time as the team prepares for the upcoming Stage 2 playoffs.
GUGLi joined the organization in January 2026, stepping into a high-pressure environment to replace the long-standing core staff. During his tenure, he guided the squad to a solid 4-1 finish in the Stage 2 Swiss stage, following a dominant 4-0 run in the opening stage of the year. Despite these respectable results, the organization has opted for a fresh direction as they look to solidify their standing in the VCT Game Changers circuit.
The vacancy did not last long. Shopify Rebellion Gold wasted no time, announcing that monSi will be stepping in as the new head coach. monSi is no stranger to the competitive scene, having built a reputation as an IGL and a tactical mind throughout his career, most notably securing a win in the 2025 NA Challengers Stage 1 with Shopify Rebellion Black.
This transition arrives with the team under significant pressure. After a period of roster instability—including the high-profile break taken by star player meL—the team is in the midst of a critical adaptation phase. With the playoffs looming just weeks away, the arrival of a new coach is a gamble intended to stabilize the team's identity and refine their map pool.
Whether this change will provide the spark needed to reclaim the top spot remains the primary question for fans. For those tracking the team's progress, you can keep an eye on their upcoming matches and monitor the bracket as they head into the final stretch of the season.
The organization’s commitment to staying competitive remains clear, but the path to the championship is getting steeper by the day.
