The tension in the PGL Studio in Bucharest has reached a boiling point. As the group stage of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 nears its conclusion, the playoff bracket is finally taking shape, with heavy hitters like Team Vitality and Aurora Gaming punching their tickets to the next stage.
In a series that carried immense personal weight, Team Vitality dismantled Natus Vincere in a clean 2-0 sweep. The matchup marked the first time Justinas "jL" Lekavicius faced his former organization since his departure in July. The Lithuanian rifler, currently standing in for Dan "apEX" Madesclaire, looked right at home, helping his team dominate Inferno 13-2 before completing a gritty 13-9 comeback on Dust2. With this victory, Vitality secured a 3-1 record and a guaranteed spot in the playoffs, effectively ensuring jL’s participation in the upcoming PGL Major Singapore under the team's banner.
Meanwhile, Aurora Gaming continued their impressive run. After an early stumble, the defending champions have roared back, sweeping Nemiga and eventually taking down Team Liquid in a hard-fought 2-1 series to secure their own playoff berth. Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo was instrumental in their success, delivering clutch performances that kept their campaign alive against a resilient Liquid squad.
The Swiss stage has been nothing short of a gauntlet. While FUT Esports and BetBoom Team were the first to lock in their playoff spots with perfect 3-0 records, the mid-table chaos has seen teams like Liquid and NAVI forced into do-or-die scenarios. For NAVI, the loss to Vitality was a harsh reality check, forcing them into a final, high-stakes battle to keep their tournament life—and their Major qualification hopes—intact.
As we look toward the final days of the event, the focus shifts to the single-elimination bracket. With the prize pool of $1,250,000 on the line, every round in the PGL Studio carries massive weight for the global rankings.
