Recent Form Analysis
Team Liquid enters this fixture following a mixed run in the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Playoffs. Their journey saw a 3-1 loss to Karmine Corp, but they showed resilience by sweeping FUT Esports 3-0 and taking down Fire Flux Esports 2-0. Earlier in the bracket, they secured wins against Enterprise Esports and Eintracht Frankfurt. They have proven they can handle pressure, but consistency remains the key question mark for the EMEA squad.
Paper Rex, on the other hand, has had a turbulent time in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 Playoffs. They suffered a 2-1 defeat to VARREL and a 0-2 loss to Nongshim RedForce, though they did manage a clean 2-0 victory over ONSIDE GAMING. Their recent history against VARREL has been a recurring struggle, and they will need to reset their mental game before facing a disciplined European opponent.
Betting Angle and Prediction
The opening market has positioned Paper Rex as the favorite at 1.56, while Team Liquid sits as the underdog at 2.34. The discrepancy in odds suggests that bookmakers favor the aggressive, high-tempo style of the Pacific region. However, given Liquid's ability to grind out series, there is potential value on the EMEA side if they can dictate the pace.
