History was written at the Copper Box Arena. In a grand final that will be remembered for years, Leviatán pulled off the unthinkable, defeating Paper Rex 3-2 to claim the VALORANT Masters London 2026 title. This victory marks the first international trophy for the organization, cementing their status as a global powerhouse.
The path to the trophy was far from easy. After falling to Paper Rex 2-0 in their opening playoff match, the team was relegated to the lower bracket. What followed was a masterclass in resilience. They systematically dismantled a gauntlet of top-tier opponents, including Team Heretics, XLG Esports, Team Vitality, and EDward Gaming. By the time they reached the grand final, they were battle-hardened and ready for revenge.
The final series was a rollercoaster. Paper Rex opened with a dominant 13-2 statement on Fracture, appearing poised to cruise to the title. However, the momentum shifted as the series progressed. Leviatán clawed back on Split (13-6), and despite a narrow 13-11 loss on Breeze, they refused to fold. A gritty 13-10 win on Ascent pushed the series to a decider, where they absolutely dismantled Paper Rex 13-5 on Lotus.
Rookie sensation Bruno "Neon" Rodríguez was the heartbeat of the squad, earning the tournament MVP title for his stellar performance throughout the event. This win is a massive milestone for the Americas region, breaking the Pacific region's recent dominance at Masters events.
What This Means for the Future
While the celebration in the Leviatán camp is well-deserved, the competitive calendar moves fast. With this result, the team has significantly bolstered their standing for Champions 2026. Interestingly, despite their triumph in London, the team faced a setback in their qualification path for the upcoming Esports World Cup, meaning their focus now shifts entirely toward preparing for the final stretch of the season.
