The wait is almost over. With the October 23, 2026, launch date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 fast approaching, the community is turning its eyes toward the upcoming Beta. This is the first real chance for players to get their hands on the latest installment from Infinity Ward, and the stakes for the competitive scene are already high.
Beta Schedule and Access
The Beta is split into two distinct weekends, allowing players to test the new mechanics and maps before the full release.
- Weekend One (Early Access): August 21 – August 25. This period is reserved for those who have digitally pre-ordered the game on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, or PC (Battle.net, Steam, or Xbox on PC).
- Weekend Two (Open Beta): August 28 – September 1. This session is open to all players across all supported platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2, with no pre-order required.
For those looking to avoid a pre-order, Discord Nitro subscribers can also redeem an early access code as part of their membership perks.
What to Expect in the Meta
Modern Warfare 4 is introducing several shifts that could impact the professional matches and the broader competitive Call of Duty scene. Most notably, the removal of hipfire bloom is a significant change aimed at rewarding precision and consistent aim.
Players will get to test 6v6 core maps and the new "Kill Block" mode, which features a dynamic layout that shifts between rounds. This level of unpredictability will force teams to adapt their strategies on the fly, potentially shaking up the established MyEsports predictions for the upcoming season. Additionally, the inclusion of the "Entrenched" campaign mission in the Beta is a franchise first, giving us a glimpse into the narrative stakes of the new Korean Peninsula-based conflict.
Whether you are a casual player or a hopeful pro, these two weekends are the perfect time to familiarize yourself with the game's movement and map pool. Keep your loadouts ready—the grind begins on August 21.
